In 2006 after playing with Lagwagon and doing several successful tours, we decided that to take Run Amok to the next level, we needed to spend some real money on recording and get ourselves a decent album. We had the material for it and after much deliberation we decided to record with Luke Reichelt of The Combovers. While this was a good decision in itself, everything that happened after that wasn't. We decided not to push through on the first day of recording and found that our amazing drum setup that Guy Cooper (Transport) had done for us had been pulled down by people who thought they had our room booked. We didn't keep a good enough track on what had been done every session and didn't listen closely enough to what we'd recorded after we thought we'd nailed it. People didn't practise enough, mistakes were made, and we ended up having to try to fix a good portion of the problems in the mix. This went on for almost two years, by which time the band was long dead. I eventually finished the album on my own with Luke, retracking good portions of the guitars on my own. Eventually it was released online in 2008 and never went to pressing. I plan to re-release it in 2009 in physical format to immediate friends and family for the sake of completion. back
